Today’s post is going to be all about how to use Microsoft Teams to teach classes online. Most school divisions are either using Google Classroom or Microsoft Teams to drive online learning. There are a number of options for sending data to and from parents and students but it is important that you use whatever your school division has setup for you. We have Teams as I said, it comes with all kinds of safety and security features that allow us to manage that environment. If teachers in my division decide to go to Google, setup accounts for students and use Google Classroom none of those protections are in place and you are putting the students’ online safety and privacy at risk.
Teams is not video conferencing. Video conferencing is just one of the pieces. It is the Class Notebook piece where you can store all your content, each student has their own folder where you place assignments, reading material for them and they can complete the assignments right there. You can mark things right there.
If you are using Seesaw to communicate with students you can use the video piece using parents email addresses to setup the meeting.

Distribute a page in the class notebook, this moves it from your content library or teacher only section into the student folders where they can now edit it and complete the assignment. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/distribute-pages-and-sections-to-class-notebooks-96b256dc-8bac-4443-9e9c-4e408c8ada68
New features you might want to look at, including Flidgrid integration with your Class Team - https://educationblog.microsoft.com/en-us/2018/08/back-to-school-microsoft-teams-new-features/ You can also add Peardeck if that is something you use.
