Setting Up Your YouTube Channel

Setting Up Your YouTube Channel

****Please note that I used my laptop and not an iPad to set this up so the display might be different on an iPad*** I used this video to teach myself and then I've broken it down for you below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y04ityB5f9k

  1. Sign up for a gmail account. You will need to use this to login to YouTube.
  2. Go to www.youtube.com
  3. Sign in using your gmail account
  4. Click on your Name Icon. For me it’s a brown circle with E in it.

Click on "Customize Channel". It will take you to a screen like this.

  1. /var/folders/91/npd8j5_j06v1r28_mtt05bbm0000gn/T/com.microsoft.Word/Content.MSO/F883D192.tmp

Using the photo above for reference, you can change your profile picture.  Follow the prompts to change your profile picture if you like. It may take a while to display, so don't panic. Click Add Channel Art and follow the prompts if you'd like there to be a photo banner for your YouTube Channel.  YouTube has options for you to use or you can upload your own (max 6 MB). You can create your own if you like and there are YouTube videos on how to do this. Click on the gear icon so you can change your basic settings for the YouTube channel.

  1. Once you click on the gear icon as circled above, you should have the following pop up:
  1. /var/folders/91/npd8j5_j06v1r28_mtt05bbm0000gn/T/com.microsoft.Word/Content.MSO/645F3770.tmp

I left all of the privacy settings to Private.

  1. Click the "Show discussions tab" and choose the following:
  1. /var/folders/91/npd8j5_j06v1r28_mtt05bbm0000gn/T/com.microsoft.Word/Content.MSO/AB613EFE.tmp

Click save at the bottom of that window.

  1. Now you can upload a video by clicking on the video camera icon and choosing "upload video".
