Schedule Example During Supplementary Education

Schedule Example:

My class is solely running through Seesaw during this Covid-19 Pandemic. My families didn't want a lot of structure and didn't want to be overwhelmed. Prior to the "pause" I had sent out paper-based learning packages and had copied the rest of the years "paper-type" activities and worksheets and made folder for each of my students. (Families at that time were wanting something) The families had this to get started while the province was trying to figure out what to do in response. Once we learned we were coming back to an online supplementary education, and after speaking with families, this is the schedule that worked best for us and maybe might work for you.

Everyday I send a recorded morning message sharing something with them, doing the calendar and weather and talk about what they are going to do today. They also only get asked to achieve one activity per day of the week. So if it means they don't get to the activities until Saturday they have only 5 short activities to complete.

Math Monday: Math activity on Seesaw or video recorded lesson and challenge.

Tell a Story Tuesday: Share a link to a book, send a video of me reading to them, or share an animation and they respond to it in Seesaw focusing on BME, character, setting, favorite part, lesson they learned, etc.

Letter Work Wednesday: ELA type of activity on particular focus on letter identification, letter sound and Phonological awareness in Seesaw.

Quick Task Thursday: Short and quick task in Seesaw usually a cross curricular type of activity on Seesaw. Anything I thought they would have fun with and learn.

Fun Friday: Usually a task that gets them moving and working on their whole self. (wellness)
