Sentence Fluency - "Spice Up Your Sentences"

• The accompanying handout guides students through the writing process to complete a story from a prompt. The story will be about a flight in which they are seeing the aerial view of a place of their choice.

Descriptive Adjectives and Avoiding Run-Ons 

• The accompanying handout asks student to identify the good adjectives help create “mind pictures" and help us “see” what is being described

•  This handout asks students to write a descriptive paragraph about sun safety. Although they will not have viewed the video on sun safety, the writing assignment can still be completed, based on students' background knowledge on sun safety.

Sentence Fluency - "Talk Written Down - Authentic Conversation"

•  The accompanying handout has students conduct an interview and then turn their responses into authentic dialogue.
