A simple hierarchical, planning map for essay creation with a few "Keep in Minds."
This site offers an English-language essay writing system. It allows you to put your ideas in the right place, in the right way.
Students will form two groups, and each group will analyze a still life. Then each student will write a three-paragraph essay describing how to draw the work of art they are studying. Each student will exchange his or her essay with someone in the other group who will draw the still life based on the essay's description. Depending on the accuracy of their peers' drawings, students will add more details to their essays.
This document suggests what research and essay writing skills students should be able to perform at each grade level. These should be taught and practiced in ELA, but become more meaningful when other teachers expect the same standard of information and skill.
This downloadable resources offers 10 weeks of daily plans you can assign with a click! Each day of mix-and-match activities includes skills practice, informal writing, and essay writing.
