The acetylene cylinder is hollow and contains a porous material saturated with liquid acetone, which keeps the gases stable under pressure. For this reason, always store the cylinder in the vertical upright position and secure it. If the cylinder is tipped, acetone may leak into the valve area and could release acetone into the system. If an acetylene cylinder is tipped, place it upright for twice as long as it had been lying down before using it. Also, be certain a cap covers the valve when the cylinders are not secured. If the cap is not present and the cylinder falls, the valve could break and propel the cylinder, causing injury to you or other worker

The VRTEX® systems are virtual reality arc welding training simulators. These computer based training systems are educational tools designed to supplement and enhance traditional welding training. They allow students to practice their welding technique in a simulated and immersive environment. The VRTEX® systems promote the efficient transfer of quality welding skills and body positioning to the welding booth while reducing material waste associated with traditional welding training. The combination of realistic puddle, arc welding sound, and real time feedback tied to the welder’s movement provides an exciting, hands-on training experience.
This document provides details and ordering information on the VRTEX® 360.

The use of welding products and equipment in the welding process causes emission of fumes. Many, if not most, of these fumes contain manganese. A small amount of manganese is necessary for the human body to remain healthy. However, too much manganese can cause serious medical problems.
These two documents explain, in detail, the signs and symptoms of the exposure of too much manganese in welding. The toxicity of manganese causes a progressive condition, referred to as Manganism (also known as manganese poisoning, maganese-induced parkinsonism, and manganese intoxication).
