This document outlines the standard procedures, initial safety checks and operational guidelines for using a drill press.
In order to get full benefit, hearing protectors must be worn all the time during noisy work. If hearing protectors are removed only for a short duration, the protection is substantially reduced. The following table gives a maximum protection provided for non-continuous use of an ideally fitted "100%" efficient hearing protector. For example if one takes off his/her hearing protector for 5 min in a 8-hour shift, the maximum protection will be 20 dB.
This document outlines ways to protect workers engaged in excavating/daylighting hotlines where there is a potential for exposure to H2S. It describes:
H2S properties
Effects on the body
Sour gas fuel line crossing procedure
Initial response strategy
Safety poster for printing purposes
This document includes pre-operational safety checks, operational safety checks and housekeeping considerations for when using a horizontal band saw.
This document outlines the standard procedures, initial safety checks and operational guidelines for using a horizontal bandsaw.
This document outlines the safety procedures and gives a detailed diagram of the Millermatic 200 welder.

Oxy-Fuel Welding
Gas cylinders require special care in oxy-fuel welding. The acetylene cylinder is hollow and contains a porous material saturated with liquid acetone, which keeps the gases stable under pressure. For this reason, always store the cylinder in the vertical upright position and secure it. If the cylinder is tipped, acetone may leak into the valve area and could release acetone into the system. If an acetylene cylinder is tipped, place it upright for twice as long as it had been lying down before using it. Also, be certain a cap covers the valve when the cylinders are not secured. If the cap is not present and the cylinder falls, the valve could break and propel the cylinder, causing injury to you or other worker
Included are documents outlining information and safe operating procedures for the use of pedestal and angle grinders.
Included are documents detailing the safe use and handling of gas cylinders in welding:
Cylinder handling
Cylinder Storage Cabinets

This document outlines the safety procedures, diagrams and other important operating tips for using the Powermax 45 Plasma Cutter.
This document outlines the safety considerations necessary for welding on containers that may have previously contained flammable or combustible materials.
Welcome to a brief introduction to PPE E-Learning. In this video you will go through an introduction to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
This video outlines the importance of using eye protection when working. It outlines the most common activities when eye injuries happen. This video would be helpful in a PAA class when learning about worker safety or in the farm safety sections of agriculture-related courses.
The GotSafety Youtube channel also offers these videos in Spanish.
In this video, common types of PPE are tested to see how they can protect from projectiles, falling objects, and other possible hazards. This is an entertaining take on Personal Protective Equipment and how it protects people.
Let's talk hearing conservation, noise and hearing loss so that you know what actions you can take to protect your hearing in the workplace or at home.

Prescription drug abuse is a growing issue, and opioid abuse is now the leading cause of accidental deaths in the U.S. With one in five high school seniors reporting that they have misused prescription drugs, reaching students early is now more important than ever. Prescription Drug Safety is an innovative digital course that arms high school students with the knowledge and tools to make healthy, informed decisions when it comes to prescription medications. Through interactive scenarios and self-guided activities, students learn about a range of topics, including the science of addiction, how to properly use and dispose of prescription drugs, and how to intervene when faced with a situation involving drug misuse.
This Course Covers
Opioids, stimulants, and depressants
Proper prescription drug use, storage, and disposal
Brain and body: the science of addiction
Simulations: refusal and bystander skills
Debunking common myths

Agricultural producers face risks from sun up to sun down (and sometimes beyond). Injuries can seriously impact their livelihood. It is important to think proactively and reduce risk before accidents happen. Four of the leading categories of farm accidents are:
- transportation
- farm equipment
- work environment
- chemical handling incidents.
Growers, packing centers, and retailers rely on one another to prevent contamination and keep consumers safe. Four animations illustrate how contamination can spread from field to table and suggest ways to avoid this. Applicable to various tree and ground fruits including cantaloupe, cucumbers, and strawberries, the animations follow the lifespan of an imaginary "purple fruit," highlighting danger points at each stage of the process and suggesting best practices for keeping produce free from contamination. Although the animations are brief, they include "Pause Points" (recommended spots to pause the video) where a presenter can discuss, distribute additional materials or reinforce learning during a training.
