This video outlines information about GMOs and their purposes.
Students will explore hybridization, selective breeding and genetic Physical Science through a jigsaw approach. Then they will go through a series of articles that help them formulate their own opinions about genetic manipulation. Lastly, they will debate the merits of genetic manipulation as a class.
Students will construct an argument based on evidence regarding their position on genetically modified organisms (GMOs). Students will conduct an inquiry investigation in Mendelian genetics using Wisconsin Fast Plants.

In this video collaboration from Khan Academy and 23andMe, you'll find out why women don't have a Y chromosome. Even with no Y, women can still learn about their paternal ancestry with genetic testing from services like 23andMe.
Sometimes trail blazers of science aren't famous like Darwin or Pasteur. Sometimes they're humble Abbots, just growing peas in the back of their Abbey. This is the story of Gregor Mendel and how his work was done, lost, then found again.
