The Saskatchewan Ministry of Education has complied a number of resources for fostering an inclusive environment in the early years. Resources include handbooks, online modules, and videos.

The Early Learning Portal provides current information on these initiatives, easy access to early years documents, resources and learning opportunities created to support those working with young children and their families in Saskatchewan. We encourage educators working with children in the early years to access the portal for information.

Dr. David Kilpatrick's Phonological Awareness Screening Test (2016) explained by Linda Poletz, a Speech-Language Pathologist with the Sun West School Division.

This online course is intended for teachers who teach younger learners. The course is 4-5 hours in total with 9 mini lessons. Each of the lessons is outline with the lesson objectives, pre-assessment, instructional video, formative assessment followed by a short quiz. This course is for Sun West teachers only. "The Responsive Teaching, Practice & Assessment in Early Learning Programs document has been created in response to a need expressed by educators for supporting and responding to the varying needs of children in early learning programs. This document is intended to:
• unify a variety of early learning documents available in Saskatchewan;
• provide a process to identify and respond to the diverse needs of children ages 3-6 in early learning programs;
• enhance assessment literacy of educators and how assessment evidence can be used to inform practices and programming;
• identify responsive supports and examples of targeted and/or small group supports;
• help educators create an inventory of community-based supports and services for children and heir families; and,
• provide support and clarification for administrators with respect to indicators of quality and how to support educators." (p.2)

Based on the book Roots by Brie Philips, Sun West School Division created this bundle of resources to help guide the infusion of Indigenous perspectives into early years classrooms.  The Roots bundle encourages students to learn about the land they are on and form personal connections to the natural world around them through literacy, exploration, and play.
