Family History Inquiry Project in action.

In this Grade 1 inquiry project, the students compare past and present. They make personal connections and are engaged in the process of finding out what life really was like in the past, as well as find similarities to their own lives. Through the use of technology, iPod Nanos and mini-camcorders, students will not bogged down by their limited writing abilities. For English language learners, the use of technology permits them to gather stories in their families' native language.

This inquiry project is about survival in different environments. Students will need to use knowledge from their survival unit as well as research to create their inquiry project. 

The Social Justice Fair is a group inquiry project designed to be cross-curricular and adaptable to individuals, groups, or classrooms based on their unique learning paths. Allow students to explore examples and representations of a social justice issue through art and music, research and writing, and action planning to make a difference. Included in this resource is an assignment, group member tracking sheet, self/peer evaluation page, and outcome list.
