History shows that regulated hunting is the foundation of conservation in North America. Big game records books help document this history.
The Boone and Crockett Club began laying the foundations for its records program in 1902. Theodore Roosevelt was appointed chairman of the Club’s first records committee—a committee that was charged with developing a measuring and record keeping system for male, native North American big game trophies. In 1906 the Club published its book, Big Game Measurements. The stated purpose of this book was to put into practice a uniform standard of measurements of the large game of North America. Members were encouraged to record the measurements of the game they harvested and send the information in to the Club's secretary. The scoring system described in this book, which is different from the one used today, was devised by Club members Theodore Roosevelt, Caspar Whitney, and Archibald Rogers.

Grain farmer Jeff Frey has used no-till on his 700-acre farm in Willow Street, Penn., since the 1980s. Despite these efforts, Frey knew he needed to do more to protect his soil from erosion. Recently, he worked with Sjoerd Duiker, associate professor of soil management at Penn State University, on a SARE grant designed to promote cover crops on grain and vegetable farms in their state. His story demonstrates that SARE grants encourage farmers and researchers to partner with each other to advance the adoption of sustainable agriculture practices.

Ocean Heroes Bootcamp empowers existing and emerging youth leaders to create their own campaigns to take action against ocean plastic pollution. Through a collaboration with a group of ocean health organizing partners, the Ocean Heroes Bootcamp provides youth with the skills, resources, and confidence to create campaigns to tackle single-use plastic pollution in their communities. Ocean Heroes HQ fosters a globally connected community of youth around one central goal: to create and implement campaigns that permanently reduce plastic pollution. Campaigns created by Ocean Heroes support the achievement of UN SDG 14.1, “By 2025, prevent and significantly reduce marine pollution of all kinds, in particular from land-based activities, including marine debris and nutrient pollution.” Campaigns also support the Clean Seas campaign of organizing partner UN Environment.

The Remote Network of Ocean Heroes is a free, open-source curriculum designed to enable ocean health organizations, education institutions, and passionate communities to implement the Ocean Heroes Bootcamp content seamlessly into their youth programs.

The film explores the origins of regenerative agriculture, offering a story that is both new and ancient in its roots. Co-written and narrated by Lyla June Johnston, an Indigenous public speaker, artist, scholar, and community organizer, the film takes a holistic approach to regenerative stewardship, expanding the idea of regeneration beyond the principles popularized in the relatively young regenerative agriculture movement.

This educational, animated short film is designed to inspire individuals to take action around regenerative agriculture and climate change. Audiences are left to answer one of the most pressing questions of our time: if we expand the regenerative mindset beyond farming, what else is possible?

The objective of this lesson would be to make the students aware of the renewable fuels available for their own homes.

Sustainable Seafood means that there was no damage caused to the environment or native species by catching the fish, crab or clam on your plate. There is a very simple way for you to make a positive impact on the health of our oceans and fish populations, and that is to choose sustainable seafood. This does not mean choosing between farmed fish or wild caught fish – there is much more involved than that. Learn about the different methods of fishing and understand the story of how the seafood reaches our plate. Every human, no matter where you are in the world, as both a positive and negative impact on the ocean. Exploring this story map helps us understand how our little choices can make a big impact.
