The following files contain all learning outcomes for each grade from kindergarten through grade 12 written in student-friendly I CAN statements, as well as outcomes.

This is a very useful tool for PeBL initiatives and can be used by teachers or students when designing learning activities and assignments.

These are outcome marks sheets we use to keep track of all of the students marks.

"Based on the information provided in Renewed Curricula: Understanding Outcomes (2010), this resource may be used in professional learning workshops or meetings to provide an overview of curriculum renewal including examination of student outcomes in an area of study. The discussion questions and suggested activities included in this resource may be adapted to support individual teacher reflection and planning, subject area or grade-alike professional learning groups, an entire school staff, cluster of schools, or school division-wide in-service."

As we prepare for the fall 2020 re-entry to school, in thinking about specifically supporting learning, we have developed the “Sun West Return to Learn Process”.  This process reminds us of the best practices we already implement in our schools, continues to reinforce our PeBL philosophy and will help us work together to achieve “Success for ALL learners”.This resource includes curated lists of on demand professional learning opportunities & resources connected to each of the 5 elements included in the Sun West Return to Learn 2020 Process.

Role and Situation
Students are a team of television producers. They have been asked to create a reality show that has the participants engage in challenges, tasks, choices and survival type situations. The reality show will consist of 3 - 5 episodes. The team will end the project with a brief presentation to a room of entertainment executives to "pitch" their show and a 20 –60 second commercial or promotional video of their show.
This PBL was created to extend student learning from the unit “Finding the Courage”. Specifically, my students studied the novel Hatchet by Gary Paulsen, and I wanted to create a meaningful connection for them that attaches to real-world situations. Students are competing against their other classmates to create the best possible Reality TV show, as well as they are utilizing critical thinking, creativity, communication, collaboration, and computer and digital technologies.
