Help my class has GAPS! Considering supplementary learning your new students may be in differing places. If your grade 4-6 students are behind, please use these planners to combine outcomes. This will benefit both teacher and student. Planning your math this way will alleviate math anxiety and make things more manageable. There is a separate plan to address learning gaps in Grade 4, Grade 5 and Grade 6.

The Writing Alignment PLC has created a short video sharing the "Narrative Writing Lessons and Resources" resource that they created this year! The video explains their PLC goal and then takes viewers through the resource bank to view the lesson descriptions, as well as the elements of the resource itself. A must see video for ELA teachers grades 1-12!

This is a Reading List for ELA 10-30 created by ELA teachers in Sun West School Division during our PLC groups in 2020-2021.  The list has resources we have used; some with suggestions for content, useability, and readability. There is also a section at the bottom with some cross-curricular and/or sports-themed literature. 

This choice board offers students and families a menu of options for some fun summer learning. There are some attached documents to support the choice board. Have fun! 

This resource list consists of Novel (F)/Non-Fiction (NF)/Play (P)/Movie (M) Choices for grades 10-12.  It was created by the Sun West School Division ELA PLT 2020-2021.

These supplemental learning packages were designed to help address gaps in prerequisite knowledge resulting from school closures due to the 2020 pandemic. There are two different types of package. The Videos and Notes package includes the notes that we provide for each lesson. For each lesson, there is a QR code and link to the video playlist with lessons and examples. The Videos and Questions package allows for minimal printing. Each page in the package covers a single topic, and features a QR code and link to the video playlist. A selection of practice questions are included on the page. An answer key is included at the end of the package. You may wish to use both packages, as the only duplication is in the link and QR code.
