Apprendre à lire l’heure avec Flo - Mathématiques (1e-4e)
Rating
0.0 stars

Arbor Knot
Rating

The Arbor Knot is used to attach the fishing line to the “Arbor” or “Spool Center”. In fact the Arbor Knot is really based on a noose knot and, therefore, pulling tightens it. The same knot is used in Bushcraft under the name Canadian Jam Knot where a light rope, e.g., paracord, is being used to compress a load such as a sleeping bag or is used as the first step in creating a lashing.

Money management is an essential life skill, but there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to this. We may all lean towards achieving the same results, but the path to getting there varies from one culture to another. It’s interesting to see how each country and their respective culture’s relationship with money is as distinctive as those cultures themselves.

Artslink Residential School Artists
Rating
0.0 stars

The ArtsLink Project is funded through the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) of Canada to promote awareness and public education of the personal history and legacy of individual former students of the residential schools in Saskatchewan, Alberta, Manitoba and British Columbia. It seeks to address both the truth‐telling and reconciliation fostering components of the TRC's mandate.

ArtsLink is a showcase to promote the art work and cultural practices of residential school survivors.

The ArtsLink website shares the wisdom, the stories and insights of residential school survivors from the Western Provinces who have reclaimed their identity and pride through art and culture. Each webpage includes a biography, a short video interview with the artist, samples of art work and documents, innovative arts and learning practices, and community arts projects.

Arts Link also provides an accessible, safe forum for discussion and expression of the residential school experience. Everyone is invited to share, participate and elaborate on the subject matter of Arts Link in order to refine the process of healing so that they can grow and change with insight and discovery.

Art bridges age, language, culture, economics, and promotes understanding by its transformative power. ArtsLink allows artists and website visitors to 'link' up in the educative process. Just as the artists have reconnected with their own inner creative selves and transformed their lives, by showcasing their artwork and sharing their amazing stories, other Canadians will be able to connect to the artistic journey and healing process too.

This collection features resources to support teaching Module 6C: Applying Personal Spending Plans from the Saskatchewan Financial Literacy curriculum. This is a full project that can be used in Module 6C for Financial Literacy 30. This usually takes the students about 5 hours to complete and it is very comprehensive to cover all future spending. The assignment requires the students to "screenshot" proof of items they found for their budget (and support each item with evidence). Students really enjoy this project (and adults have used it too for budgeing in real life!). Students may chose to have $0 spending on some items (pets, legal, etc), but they should explain their reasoning for entering a zero. As well, students should enter savings  into their budget (at least 10% of earnings).
