"Getting a workout in with kids around doesn’t have to be complex. In fact, it can even be fun! The secret isn’t finding time without the kids. The secret is inviting the kids to workout with you. Here’s a look at 12 workouts you can do with your kids, in your home."
Move Your Body
Move Your Body! Children should continue to get the 60 minutes of recommended excercise daily. This can include family walks, playing in the backyard, or a number of videos and supports we have available including guided yoga and other fitness sites such as Fitness Blender. Don't forget to take care of your mind too. We have plenty of resources available for breathing exercises and mindfulness as well.
If you find there are too many resources to sort through, you can filter the results using the “Filter Resources” area on the left side of the screen. Select “Education Level” to narrow your results to a specific education level. (Please note - for the purposes of this site these "Education Levels" are used when filtering - Lower Primary = K-2, Upper Primary=3-5, Middle Years=6-8, High School=9-12)
"We’ve rounded up the best YouTube workouts — we’re talking everything from traditional aerobics, to ballet, to high-intensity interval training routines — so you can keep your physique in tip-top shape."

"Why take brain breaks?
Brain breaks allow children the opportunity to mentally rest their brain by diverting their mind into movements that allow them to:
• release stress
Regular brain breaks enhance attentiveness, concentration, focus and accelerate learning by allowing children to release their energy, anxiety and stress. Brain breaks also increase circulation, promote physical fitness and coordination."
"The Move to Learn Team is EXCITED to debut a redesigned website and a new collection of FREE classroom videos to help teenage students shake out the energy and regain focus! "

This playlist has brain breaks for prek-grade 12!

"Do Yoga with Me is one of my personal favourite sources for good home workouts, obviously of the yoga variety! Many of their classes are filmed outdoors in beautiful British Columbia, Canada. The level of instruction is top-notch and there are videos that focus on pretty much every part of the body (e.g. hips, hamstrings, back, etc.), so you can target the area that you need to work on most."
Any video with a plus symbol in an orange/yellow circle requires a subscription but all others are free to access. You can use the filters at the top of the page to filter your search.
"Workouts provided on the Live Strong YouTube video channel will definitely help you improve your strength, flexibility and fitness. Celebrity trainer, Nicky Holender instructs most of the online workouts you’ll find here. He knows his stuff and tailors these at-home workouts for busy people who want a quick exercise fix."
"Every single workout will challenge your entire body and will include elements of cardio, strength, and core conditioning. The uniqueness of these workouts are the “difficulty levels” that provide up to 4 distinct options for every single move. This makes each workout very accessible for newbies, yet challenging for super-fit users."
"Push2Play for an Hour a Day was created to inspire Saskatchewan parents and children to live healthier lifestyles through active play every day. Together, we can encourage our children to make physical activity a part of their lives … for life!"
