Welcome to Doggyland, the home of modern, hip hop inspired takes on kids songs and nursery rhymes presented by Snoop Dogg! This show features a colorful cast of dogs who educate and entertain children through the power of singing, dancing and rapping! The cast is composed of Bow Wizzle (played by Snoop Dogg) and the puppies Wags, Yap Yap, Barks-A-Locks and Chow Wow!

The show features a colorful cast of dogs in a vibrant world where they sing fun and educational songs that teach learning and cognitive fundamentals aimed at preschoolers and toddlers all around the world.

The songs help promote social emotional development as well as age related cognitive development in the preschool set. We cover a wide range of engaging topics such as letters, numbers, colors, animals, good habits, hygiene, accepting others and more, along with modern remixes of classic nursery rhymes. Our music is made by award winning producers and singers resulting in tunes that everyone in the family can enjoy, allowing parents to participate in their child’s learning experience.

The show is centered on a group of puppies led by an adult mentor named Bow Wizzle. Every dog is different in color and shape to help promote diversity and inclusion.

This is an example of how students can display their learner profile. This flip book should have each page copied on a different colour and will need to be double-sided and cut.
There are many other items you can include in a learner profile, but this example includes: learning style, multiple intelligences, learning preferences, and a SECRET 21st century skills checklist.

Here are a few learner profile templates you can use with your students.

The purpose of this STEM project was for student’s to show their mastery of outcomes ME3.1 and ME3.2 using a STEM challenge. STEM is the acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics and requires the usage of each area in the planning, design and building of an inquiry-based project. In this challenge, the students were tasked with designing and building a magnetic maze for their classmates to maneuver a paper clip through in a race. The students were required to plan their maze and gather materials prior to class then assemble and test during class time. They then had the opportunity to test the mazes of two other classmates. Post-reflection of the activity involved discussion and evaluation of what worked and what didn’t and the best ideas and strategies that were discovered.

Mental Wellness – Basics is a course that introduces adolescents to concepts related to mental health and wellness. Stigma associated with mental health can have serious and negative impacts on help-seeking behaviors, and many mental health conditions and symptoms can be significantly lessened through prevention. As such, this course will do the following:

Support students in identifying threats to mental health early, and taking measures to increase factors that protect mental health.
Attempt to reduce stigma by introducing students to the experiences of others in order to develop awareness and empathy, as well as by providing facts on the prevalence and symptoms of mental health conditions.
Foster a mental health mindset in students and help them develop feelings of self-efficacy by introducing knowledge and skills that promote and model advocacy for self and others.

A wealth of online personality tests for free. These may be some of the tests you wish to consider doing with older students as part of their learner profiles. Consider doing the Jungian Scales/Myers Briggs. The brain dominance, temperament quiz and memory test are also very interesting.

The following templates support the implementation of 21st century skills for character and academic skills.

There are two templates available. One template will be used for school-wide implementation, and one will be used for classroom implementation.

These are some options you may want to consider for student learner profiles for older students - especially the Jung/Myers Briggs and Enneagram scales.

This graphic organizer allows students to decide if a risk is worth taking. Risk taking is an important part of self-management or regulation.

Rube Goldberg machines are a fun and innovative way to integrate 21st century skills into your math, science, STEM or design learning class.
Rube Goldberg machines involve using a series of complex steps to do a simple task.
Students first begin reflecting on what 21st century skills they will need to pull this activity off. Then they must make an effective plan as a group before they are able to gather their materials and build. The plan can (and likely should!) change as they work and that is fine. Students should reflect on their 21st century skills daily to give them an opportunity to regroup and refocus as needed.
This is really a fun and valuable activity! This version was done a 7/8 Math class.

Debbie Clark's 8th grade science students take several days to complete their Rube Goldberg contraptions. Bringing things from home, they experiment with the parts, design their contraption, and make a blueprint for it before beginning to build. This is a lesson that emphasizes cooperation, teamwork, creativity and design.

The following are a set of daily checklists students can use to reflect on each individual SECRET skill. The log has the students rate themselves on the sub skills of the big skill as well as set a goal for what they need to focus on to improve the next day.

These are cute and useful posters you can use in your classroom to help teach your students 21st century skills using SECRET skills (self-management, effective participation, creativity, reflection, enquiry & teamwork).

These resources are a good starting point when you want to implement 21st century SECRET skills. The guide book provides you with the theory of the skills as well as how to start. There is a template included on how to teach and assess these skills. The other pieces provide rubrics for students to assess their own skills as well as their peers.

This is an example of SECRET posters students have created using their own words with teacher guidance.
Students have described what each skill looks like, sounds like and feels like in action. You can use this template and add your students' descriptions in to personalize the posters to your room.

This template can be used to plan delivery of 21st Century SECRET Skills to your students throughout the year.
