This free printable puts forth a series of questions and statements about dinosaurs playing baseball. (Silly, but kids love it!) Students must punctuate each correctly. Finally, kids are asked to create their own statement and question on the same topic.

It provides questions to ask your little reader, projects to go along with the book and websites to help kids further explore the topic. This resource is a handout for students with tips, tricks and steps with writing a formal essay.

This site offers several online decodable books covering different letter sounds while introducing phonetic and sight words. Reading prompts and discussion points are imbedded throughout the book, with discussion questions at the end.

Some kids love all the free time summer brings, with plenty of opportunities to catch up on new books and old favorites. Other kids wouldn’t crack open a book from June to August if they had the choice, but it’s important to keep them reading!
