Sun West School Division has developed an optional course based on student interest in the area of mental wellness as an elective at the 30 level. Mental Wellness A30L will provide an extension of the skills and knowledge acquired in the Wellness 10 course, and will consist of both theory and applied learning using low- and high-level technologies.

"The Responsive Teaching, Practice & Assessment in Early Learning Programs document has been created in response to a need expressed by educators for supporting and responding to the varying needs of children in early learning programs. This document is intended to:
• unify a variety of early learning documents available in Saskatchewan;
• provide a process to identify and respond to the diverse needs of children ages 3-6 in early learning programs;
• enhance assessment literacy of educators and how assessment evidence can be used to inform practices and programming;
• identify responsive supports and examples of targeted and/or small group supports;
• help educators create an inventory of community-based supports and services for children and heir families; and,
• provide support and clarification for administrators with respect to indicators of quality and how to support educators." (p.2)

"The Student Transitions Guide is intended to provide school staff in Saskatchewan a framework to support students who are transitioning to a new school. This document explains the correlation between transition to new schools and reduced levels of achievement. It also outlines the importance of supporting new students, helps schools identify if a student needs support, what may be required and an action plan that will assist schools.
There may be local considerations that are not included. It is strongly recommended that each school in Saskatchewan develop a local student transition protocol to provide the best opportunity for success for all the new students in their school." (p.2)

This document provides a framework for welcoming EAL students into Sun West School Division.
It addresses the role of: administration, the classroom teacher, EAL support teacher, student support teacher. It also looks at assessing the learner's needs and working through the four layers of language acquisition.

The purpose of this guide is to support facilitators to assist and teach learners with intellectual disabilities about various dimensions of health and wellness. Tell It Like It Is is comprised of ten modules, however, you may elect to pick and choose which modules to facilitate with your own group.
