This learning path is a professional development learning journey and set of classroom resources, grounded in social and emotional learning and curated by experts in the field of equity and inclusion, restorative practices, and education technology. It empowers educators to build the knowledge and capability needed to support equity and anti-racist work with students.

Educators must be courageous and confident in their journey to fully participate in dismantling racism in their learning environments. The intention of this learning path is to deeply question power, privilege, and fragility to interrupt teaching practices that marginalize, isolate, and exclude black, indigenous, people of color (BIPOC) students in the classroom.

In this learning path, you'll:
Deconstruct power, privilege, marginalization, and fragility
Develop individual accountability for becoming an anti-racist.
Apply social and emotional learning skills to learn how to teach from an anti-racist mindset toward building equity in the classroom

In this series we explore the world of assessment and feedback in our new reality.

Spend sometime exploring the basic foundations of parent engagment and then learn about a variety of classroom strategies you can use to engage parents in student learning.

DESCRIPTION
Copyright and fair use are crucial topics for educators. In today’s digital world, copyright and fair use are also directly relevant to activities that students engage in virtually every day. This short course aims to make these concepts clear and accessible to educators. Completing this course should give educators the background they need to feel comfortable teaching these concepts to students using Copyright and Creativity for Ethical Digital Citizens, our free suite of K-12 teaching resources.

OBJECTIVES
At the end of this course, you’ll be able to:

Understand the purpose of copyright and its basic rights.
Understand the limitations of copyright, including fair use.
Understand how to acquire and share media in lawful and ethical ways.
Be prepared to apply copyright and fair use to project-based learning situations, including knowing how to help students find creative work that is free and legal to re-use and share.

As we prepare for the fall 2020 re-entry to school, in thinking about specifically supporting learning, we have developed the “Sun West Return to Learn Process”.  This process reminds us of the best practices we already implement in our schools, continues to reinforce our PeBL philosophy and will help us work together to achieve “Success for ALL learners”.
