"Indigenous Canada is a 12-lesson Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) from the Faculty of Native Studies that explores Indigenous histories and contemporary issues in Canada. From an Indigenous perspective, this course explores key issues facing Indigenous peoples today from a historical and critical perspective highlighting national and local Indigenous-settler relations. Topics for the 12 lessons include the fur trade and other exchange relationships, land claims and environmental impacts, legal systems and rights, political conflicts and alliances, Indigenous political activism, and contemporary Indigenous life, art and its expressions."

As we prepare for the fall 2020 re-entry to school, in thinking about specifically supporting learning, we have developed the “Sun West Return to Learn Process”. This process reminds us of the best practices we already implement in our schools, continues to reinforce our PeBL philosophy and will help us work together to achieve “Success for ALL learners”.

It is not required that you stick to a strict schedule during at home learning. However, it is suggested that you keep a schedule for wake and bed times, meal times and chores. You can be flexible with what learning is done when, and give your children voice and choice in what one of the "6 Every Day Learning" activities they would like to tackle during learning times.

We have put together a Supplemental Learning Assessment Quick Reference Guide to help teachers address questions regarding the assessment process moving forward.
We have included many of the RPT guidelines as well as some of our own details to help clarify questions that may arise.
We have also included a research based article from the Canadian Assessment for Learning Network (CAfLN) that really explains assessment practices in a clear and concise way. The CAfLN document aligns very nicely with our Pre-K to 9 guidelines. We have had clearer responses to the 10-12 assessment questions from the RPT however, they do align fairly well with the philosophy behind the CAfLN document (different wording, etc.).
The Fair Dealing Decision Tool helps teachers decide whether "fair dealing" permits classroom use of print materials, artistic works, or audiovisual materials without first getting copyright permission.
