A day in the life of an online teacher can’t go without the following paper and online based resources!
This list was compiled as part of the Phase 1 Grade 4-6 PLC.

Desmos now has way more than just a graphing calculator (which is pretty great too!).

You can now access student or teacher accounts for free and find interactive lessons for online and classroom learning for Grade 6-12+ Math.

Topics include linear equations, 3D models, quadratic equation, exponential functions, problem solving, real world application, linear functions, etc.

Engaging activities include pizza maker, marble mini golf, scaling machines & much more!

Once you're comfortable, you can even make your own activities!

The Grade 1-3 PLC team has created a choice boards for students learning from home in response to COVID-19.
The areas addressed include Reading, Writing, Math, Get Moving, Get Active, and a subject area project.

The following is are examples of a choice boards that could be used with grades 4-6 for distance learning. Keep checking. More will be added.

Developed by the Middle Years PLC group, these resources are intended to support teachers in providing at-home learning experiences for their students. They may also be helpful for in-class planning. This set of resources will be updated and expanded as further development occurs. Areas of learning covered include reading, writing, movement, creativity, mathematics, and social studies/science.

These projects allow students the opportunity to create, test, experiment, design and collaborate to meet some seriously engaging challenges!

Prodigy is a free, Pokemon-style math game that has been proven to improve student scores and confidence! It is aligned to the Ontario curriculum for grades 1-6, and features content from each of the five major strands.

Prodigy was designed with three primary goals in mind:
1. To create deep engagement so students double their math practice time at home.
2. To equip teachers with reports and assessment tools to inform their instruction.
3. To provide curriculum aligned content for free, regardless of a student’s demographic.

Teachers can create assignments and assessments, align them curriculum, and check in on progress. The program automatically adapts to students who are struggling or excelling, but teacher's also have the option to override grade levels to adapt and modify for individual students. Parents can connect and see what their child is working on, and students can access the program from any computer or tablet.

This site offers self-paced math missions and online game shows for students. Available both online AND offline. Grades: K-12. Free premium version available during the coronavirus school closures.

"Using the outcomes and indicators identified in the Social Studies curriculum for grade 3-5 students, we developed a series of question sets, called Saskatchewan Historic Places Discovery Hunt, on the topics of immigration, Indigenous history, resource and economic development, prominent people and events in the province’s history, and governing Saskatchewan, among others. Using an inquiry-based approach, the questions are designed to guide students to a Saskatchewan listing on the Register where they can quickly, and without a great amount of critical thinking, learn an interesting fact about the property.

"Sitting Still Like a Frog Audio

The audio exercises included with Sitting Still Like a Frog are based on mindfulness-training exercises for adults and developed especially for children and their parents. They form the core of learning to be more mindful at different times throughout the day. You can do the exercises together with your child or children. Some kids like to do the exercises on their own, and many parents love doing the exercises themselves. You can do them sitting on the floor, on a couch or chair, or lying in bed.

These supplemental learning packages were designed to help address gaps in prerequisite knowledge resulting from school closures due to the 2020 pandemic. There are two different types of package. The Videos and Notes package includes the notes that we provide for each lesson. For each lesson, there is a QR code and link to the video playlist with lessons and examples. The Videos and Questions package allows for minimal printing. Each page in the package covers a single topic, and features a QR code and link to the video playlist. A selection of practice questions are included on the page. An answer key is included at the end of the package. You may wish to use both packages, as the only duplication is in the link and QR code.   

This site offers Intriguing Times images stripped of their captions -- and an invitation to students to discuss them live. The same images could also be used as writing prompts as well.
