This content covers budgeting and net worth elements that influence financial decisions. Uniquely tailored to Indigenous students’ experiences and histories, Financial Empowerment covers a wide range of topics in financial planning, personal finance, and financial decision-making. Threaded throughout with Indigenous and Canadian content, videos with Elders are also included, offering students their perspectives to enhance the learning experience.

The Ready, Check, Go! Series is a physical activity tracker designed to help children and their parents/guardians understand the importance and enjoyment of incorporating regular daily physical activity in ways that suit their personal beliefs and needs.
The Ready, Check, Go! Series includes:
- Participant/Student Workbook to track physical activity (ages 9-11 and 12-14), and Leader/Teacher, and Parent Guides
- Activities to promote the importance of participating in regular physical activity
- Goal setting worksheets to help enhance physical activity behaviours
- Inclusive activities for children of all abilities
The objective of this program is to help children, youth and their parents/guardians understand the importance of regular physical activity; their current physical activity behaviours; and strategies to help them engage in more physical activities. This knowledge can help increase the amount of physical activity children and youth engage in, value and enjoy, in ways that suit their personal beliefs and needs. Specifically, the Ready, Check, Go! is a learning activity to help children aged 9-14 discover more about:
- How physically active they are on typical day;
- The different types of activities they undertake, when, and for how long;
- The intensity (moderate- to vigorous) of their physical activity;
- Identifying ways that they can be more active.

How to use Make it Count in the Classroom: Virtually every subject offers opportunities to expose students to money management situations. Rather than competing for valuable teaching time, Make it Count can enhance mandated curricula with engaging and practical real-life examples that promote understanding and hone decision-making skills. Saving, budgeting, spending wisely, earning money and recognizing scams are a few key concepts that weave themselves through a series of meaningful activities that easily integrate into subjects such as: Math,Computers, English, Art, Social Studies, Life Skills, Physical Education
A recent blog by Grant Wiggins affirmed what I have long believed about creativity: it is a 21st-century skill we can teach and assess. Creativity fosters deeper learning, builds confidence and creates a student ready for college and career.
However, many teachers don't know how to implement the teaching and assessment of creativity in their classrooms. While we may have the tools to teach and assess content, creativity is another matter, especially if we want to be intentional about teaching it as a 21st-century skill. In a PBL project, some teachers focus on just one skill, while others focus on many. Here are some strategies educators can use tomorrow to get started teaching and assessing creativity -- just one more highly necessary skill in that 21st-century toolkit.
