This list is continuously updated to reflect new AI tools for educators. The list describes the tool and indicates if the resources is free, and highlights what it can be best used to do.

Remember, nothing can replace your professionalism or knowledge of your students, so use these tools with that in mind. What is created will not be "plug and go" but will need you to refine it to make it better suited to your students and their needs.

This AI Image generator is FREE and:
*Creates great, clean images
*Very easy to use
*Allows you to create in different shapes
*Side panel lets you select options (instead of remembering to type them in your prompt)
*Image watermark makes it clear that images are AI-created (but is very bold)
*Has lots of other AI image tools beyond "text to image" like generative fill, text effects, recoloring and more

Ditch That Textbook Suggests These Activities with AI Images:
💬 Generate images for a comic strip with an AI image generator, then students add speech/thought bubbles in Google Slides or PPT
🗣 Create a "Caption This" activity where students speak for a character in an AI-generated image
📝 Students add AI-generated images about a topic of study to visual notes they're creating
📚 AI generates an image of an alternate ending for a story and students narrate it
📍 Have AI create a map and have students give directions or describe it
✍️ "Reverse caption this": Students write the dialogue and ask AI to create an image for it
❓ What if activity: Students write an alternate story (like the Marvel show, "What if...?") and AI generates an image

AutoDraw is a free, web-based drawing tool created by Google that utilizes artificial intelligence to help users quickly and easily create professional-looking drawings and illustrations. Its simplicity makes it accessible to anyone, regardless of age, who wants to explore AI.

As you begin sketching on the canvas, AutoDraw's AI recognizes your intentions and suggests relevant clip art images or icons. You can choose one of the suggested images to replace your rough sketch with a polished version. The AI learns from your selections and rejections, continually improving its suggestions.

AutoDraw is free.

Brisk Teaching is a free Chrome extension that leverages AI to help teachers save time and enhance their teaching methods. It integrates with Google Classroom, Docs, Slides, YouTube, Canvas, and Schoology, allowing educators to create instructional materials, provide feedback, evaluate student writing, adjust reading levels, generate personalized curriculum, and analyze class progress.

It's free but you can pay to get more features.

CK-12 offers a flexible and engaging platform with interactive lessons, practice exercises, and multimedia content tailored to different learning styles. The Flexi feature allows students to customize their learning experience, focusing on areas where they need support or want to explore further. This adaptability helps students take control of their education and succeed at their own pace.

Canva is a free-to-use online graphic design tool. Use it to create social media posts, presentations, posters, videos, logos and more.

ChatGPT is a generative AI chatbot that engages in conversation much like a human. It has been trained on a wide range of internet data and various other sources, with human input ensuring authentic interactions.

Ask ChatGPT a question or make a request, and it will provide a response. There are numerous ways to utilize it in the classroom.

ChatGPT operates on a "freemium" model, offering both a free plan and a paid premium option. With the free version, you can submit unlimited queries.

"Now that generative AI tools like ChatGPT are available, classwork is bound to change as a result. How do we preserve academic integrity? What's cheating, and what's OK? Here are some ideas."

This resource can help facilitate some great conversations about AI.

It provides and editable template to use with your class.

Claude (claude.ai) is an AI assistant developed by Anthropic. It can handle large volumes of information, brainstorm ideas, generate text and code, help clarify complex subjects, guide you through challenging situations, and simplify tasks so you can focus on what’s most important. Claude employs Constitutional AI to ensure safety, accuracy, and security.

Log in to Claude and pose a question. It can also extract text from images, convert designs into computer code, and transcribe handwritten notes.

Claude follows a "freemium" model, offering both a free plan and a paid premium plan. You can still do quite a lot for free.

Conker allows you to design multiple-choice, read-and-respond, and fill-in-the-blank quizzes for students across different levels and topics. You can also paste reading material to generate quizzes based on that content.

Start by opening Conker and providing details about the quiz you want to create. Conker will generate a short quiz that you can assign to students using a code, or you can export it to Google Forms. Additionally, you can create a printable question sheet and answer sheet.

Conker is free.

Curipod is an AI tool that generates an interactive slide deck in seconds based on a given topic. The slide deck includes features like:

Polls
Word clouds
Open-ended questions
A drawing tool
Once the slide deck is created (typically consisting of 9-12 slides), you can edit and adjust it to meet your needs and add more slides as desired.

The free plan offers almost everything you would need.

Free decodable AI story generator. Aligned to the scope and sequence of UFLI (but not endorsed by UFLI), Guided Phonics and Beyond (LMW) and Project Read. Enter the target sound and a story is generated featuring that sound.

This site hosts a "collection of small, simple, single-task tools, mostly designed to help people with tasks they find overwhelming or difficult."

This site can help you break down things you need to do at home, school or work into a manageable list of tasks using the "Magic ToDo" tab. The "Estimator" tab will help you know how long your tasks will take.

You can also use the "Formalizer" to improve writing; the "Judge" tab to help determine the tone of something; the "Professor" tab to give you a crash course on anything, the "Compiler" tab to take a brain dump and turn it into tasks and even the "Chef" tab to help you decide what to make for lunch.

This tool is free through the website (the app has a charge).

Google Gemini is an experimental conversational AI chat service created by Google. It is designed for text-based interactions, providing responses that mimic human dialogue. Utilizing advanced natural language processing techniques, it effectively understands and generates text based on user prompts, making it a valuable tool for natural language comprehension and generation.

Google Gemini is free to use.

Google's NotebookLM condenses the sources you provide into both text and audio formats to enhance your understanding. Google refers to it as "your personalized AI research assistant.

Users can enter their notes (up to 50 items) into NotebookLM, and the AI evaluates the content to generate summaries, emphasize key details, and recommend related information. Additionally, the tool enables users to search their notes using natural language, simplifying the process of locating specific information.

The coolest feature - it will create a 10 minute podcast about your subject as well.

Suno is a music creation tool that takes your song idea and handles everything else. It writes the lyrics, composes the music, generates the vocal track, and mixes it all into a complete song. All you need to do is hit play. (You can make about 10 songs a day for free.)

Some ideas to write a song about:
*character or historical figure
*historical event
*character trait you're trying to build E.g., honesty, organization etc
*transition times
*a concept you're learning about
*class anthem
*a story student's have written
*current events
*projects
*just for fun - E.g., Sleepy Monday song

Be sure to preview content before using with students - some content may not be appropriate that is on the site already. Use your judgement - it may be best if you make the songs based on the student request.
