"PBS NewsHour Extra's lesson plans are outstanding and clever. For example, a lesson on unions asks students to watch a few short videos and then get into teams to resolve an imaginary labor dispute based on what they've learned about negotiation. Beyond the provided lesson plans, there are many videos with resources to help students process what they're watching -- like an essential question and key vocabulary -- as well as discussion questions to kick off post-viewing conversations. Plus, the majority of the lesson plans are tied to STEM-related issues, so they're ideal for cross-curricular collaboration.
Because the daily videos include transcripts, supporting links, questions, and an extension activity, they could be assigned as independent work, group work, or both. For instance, part of the class could work on their own with the video -- assuming individual internet access -- and then, as they finish, they could move into small groups to tackle the extension activity.
For journalism, media studies, or ELA classes, make sure to check out the Student Voices samples. They'd serve as great models for editorial writing. This site offers free online dictionary and text translation.
PROMT Online Translator does not offer as many languages as other translators. The list is limited to about 22 languages so far. But it does have other nice features. For instance, it makes use of automatic language detection and even choose a topic for the translation.
You can then copy, paste, check the spelling, or access a dictionary. There is also a virtual keyboard so if you are using the site on a tablet, for example, popping in your words or sentences is simple. PROMT also offers translation software that you can purchase and download. Interestingly, free online website translator is also available as an Apple or Android app.

There are no buttons, and the emphasis on touch features makes for an intuitive design. Sketches are stored in sketchbooks that sit neatly on a shelf. Once your book is full, you can start a new one. Share your creations via Tumblr, Facebook, Twitter, or email, or save them to your camera roll. Paper is completely free, including the additional tools (mixer, color, write, outline, and sketch), which formerly were in-app purchases. Creating can be done with your finger, but you can also purchase Paper's aptly named stylus, Pencil.
