Les voix de la poésie sont un organisme de bienfaisance dont l’objectif est de faire vivre le monde au rythme de la poésie. Pour y arriver, nous travaillons au sein du milieu de l’éducation, pour lequel nous souhaitons être la ressource essentielle pour l'enseignement et l'apprentissage de la poésie au Canada et dans le monde.

MISSION
Nous offrons aux enseignant·e·s des ressources pédagogiques attrayantes et leur proposons des expériences poétiques variées, en français et en anglais, afin d’inspirer leurs élèves à lire, à réciter et à écrire de la poésie :

-des anthologies en ligne de poèmes contemporains et classiques en langues française et anglaise;
-des concours de récitation où plus de 75 000 $ en prix et en voyages sont à gagner chaque année. Les concours pancanadiens se divisent en trois sections : française, bilingue et anglaise;
-le journal étudiant de poésie VOICES/VOIX;
-le programme Vers l'Avenir
-le programme Poètes à l'école/Poet In Class.
-du matériel pédagogique en français et en anglais.

This activity was designed for blind learners, but all types of learners can use it to learn about the life cycle of plabts. The five activities included in this lesson plan provide students with evidence that all living things grow and change as they progress through their life cycle. All of the activities detailed in this lesson plan can be done with students who are visually impaired, if teachers adapt them using Resources for Teaching and Adapting Lessons for Students with Visual Impairments. Tactile models and braille materials will be key and all of the activities will require more time for repeated tactical exploration and expression.

Students get the inside scoop on a story when they create interview questions and answers for characters in the books they read.

Students will listen to a familiar story with repetitive lines that the children can remember. They will make puppets and retell the story in small groups with an adult volunteer or an older child. Main Curriculum Tie: English Language Arts Kindergarten Reading: Literature Standard 2, With prompting and support, retell familiar stories, including key details. All children will participate in retelling a familiar story using puppets. This will help develop oral language and comprehension.

After reading a work of literature as a class, students will brainstorm "crimes" committed by characters from that text. Groups of students will work together to act as the prosecution or defense for the selected characters, while also acting as the jury for other groups. Students will use several sources to research for their case, including the novel and internet resources. All the while, students will be writing a persuasive piece to complement their trial work.

While this lesson uses Shakespeare's The Tempest, there are several other text options. Handouts (except for the model case handout) are generic so that they can be used with any text.

This lesson leads students to reflect on and respond to literature by creating an online scrapbook. Students view a sample electronic scrapbook and use the project rubric to evaluate it, becoming familiar with the project requirements in the process. They use an online tool to evaluate resources on a topic related to a piece of literature and post their evaluations for class reference. Students then use online resources to capture ŕscrapsĚŇ of information about their assigned topic and create a scrapbook using PowerPoint or another presentation software, making sure to cite all their sources. They share their online scrapbook with the class, defending their choice of scrapbook entries: why is the entry important to the understanding of the topic?

This lesson focuses on The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain, but any piece of literature could be used for the basis of an online scrapbook.

Students use text sets to research a topic inspired by a fiction book they have read. A text set is a collection of multiple text genres with a single focus.

Two students hide in the bathroom in order to avoid taking the math test, eventually telling their teacher they were trapped yb a giant squid. While waiting to speak to the principal, they go in to the lost and found, where they enter an imaginary world hidden in the lost and found bin.

The Lost in the Amazon curricular unit is a series of minds-on and hands-on engineering activities based on an adventure scenario set in the Amazon rainforest in Brazil. Students imagine themselves to be a team of EnviroTech engineers returning to the U.S. from a conference in Brasilia, Brazil. When their plane crashes deep in the Amazon forest, they work in groups to overcome various obstacles in their quest to survive and reach the nearest city as quickly and safely as possible. Motivated by this adventurous theme, students discover, learn and apply the following: 1) classification of plants and insects; 2) general categorizing skills; 3) process skills: problem solving and critical thinking; 4) scientific testing and experimentation; 5) materials properties.

Students explore the theme of love of war through texts on camaraderie among soldiers. They then compose a visual collage depicting their beliefs about the relationship between love and war.
