Give a 5 question mixed review quiz to students every Friday.The questions can focus on current learning, but should also include questions from the entire year (especially concepts needed for next week's lessons, or foundational items that need to be mastered). This strategy will help develop mastery, provide opportunities for mixed practice to ensure comprehension beyond specific learning content.

The Pass - Students measure and find patterns between angles lying on a straight line, by setting up a pass that bounces off the boards and discover the Law of Reflection based on their data. The Shot - Students explore the interaction between applied force and frictional force and use this knowledge to hit specific targets on the ice.

The Skate Blades - Students help players stop on a certain target based on the radius of hollow of their skate blades, and use this data to figure out the correlation between radius of hollow and stopping distance. This is a year plan created using GAP resources that any teacher can take and use. This is intended for teachers new to teaching Grade Six, but can be used by any Grade Six teacher to offer ideas of what can be used to teach the content of the Grade Six curriculum.

This is a PeBL based project where students are required to follow / research the NCAA March Madness College Basketball tournament. Each grade's assignment and tasks are based off of the Math Stats and Probability outcomes and indicators. Hands on learning and lots of fun! 

Math Antics has amazing videos to explain concepts for Math. The videos are very clear and explicit and students love them. All of the video lessons are FREE.

There are also follow up exercises, videos and worksheets that students can use to solidify learning - but you will be required to pay $20 a year to access these. hat being said, it's super useful even without a paid account!
