Digital Citizenship Guide for Parents
Rating
0.0 stars

"Being a parent has never been easy, but it can be even more challenging once your kids are using the internet. Even if you're not up on the latest technologies and platforms, though, you have an important role — maybe the most important — in your kids' online lives. This guide will prepare you for the conversations you need to have with kids when they first start using digital devices, as they grow and their online activities change, and when things go wrong.
The guide is divided into three sections that each deal with a different aspect of digital citizenship, to teach your kids to Respect People's Feelings, to Respect Privacy and to Respect Property online."

"Introduce students in grades 6–8 to Digital Compass™ by Common Sense Education. The award-winning game is an innovative way to give students the freedom to explore how decisions made in their digital lives can affect their relationships and futures.

Through the suite of popular choose-your-own-path games, students play through the perspective of one of eight main characters, each of whom is facing a different digital citizenship dilemma. The varied story paths and multiple decision points encourage students to play repeatedly in order to explore alternative courses of action. Games are also available in Spanish."

Students will be able to:

• Synthesize information and evaluate options
• Assess situations in order to make informed judgments
• Reflect on decisions and determine alternative choices
• Build interpersonal empathy by role-playing and taking the perspective of others
• Develop skill-based competencies through game-based learning
