The Comprehensive Demonstration of Learning (CDL) is a full semester project
where the students showcase their learning over the term in the form of a Google
site or blog. At the beginning of the CDL project, the criteria are co-created by the
students and myself. Students then need to demonstrate how they achieved or met
the outcomes in the course. Students’ then check in periodically over the course of
the term to discuss how the CDL process is going and I provide feedback on the
submissions to their CDL’s.

BBC lesson series on Computational Thinking. This series would be a good resource for teachers, and older students. The lesson provide some information, a video clip, and each section in the series has a quiz at the end to check understanding. The start of the topic is broken down into the sections of computational thinking: Decomposition, Pattern Recognition, Abstraction and Algorithms.

This task asks students to perform computations involving complex numbers using the given information.

Accuracy of measurement in navigation depends very much on the situation. If a sailor's target is an island 200 km wide, sailing off center by 10 or 20 km is not a major problem. But, if the island were only 1 km wide, it would be missed if off just the smallest bit. Many of the measurements made while navigating involve angles, and a small error in the angle can translate to a much larger error in position when traveling long distances.
