This artifact demonstrates the development of creativity in my classroom because it required all students to choose an area that interested them and investigate it further by creating their own experiment, using an idea and extending on it from the internet, or researching a topic. Students could choose whatever topic they wanted to. The requirements included following proper scientific methods when designing an experiment or studying a topic. Thus, this did not fall into a particular outcome, rather it was extra practice in developing the scientific method, which is focused on in every Unit of study.

The units underwent a rigorous 18-month development process with teacher and student voices across the country informing the selection of the phenomena and each unit’s storyline. Using our curriculum, teachers have seen their students strengthen their ability to solve problems, become more curious about the world around them, and be excited to discover the wonders of science in their classrooms."
