Many people think that food is eaten only because it satisfies hunger. They do not regard food as something that keeps them healthy. One of a caterer's concern is to provide food which can help nourish the body and protect it against disease. This unit would equip you with the necessary knowledge to provide healthy and nutritious meals for your customers.
Solving food shortages caused by droughts is a big challenge that may benefit from a tiny ally. Turns out that the microbes living in the soil around plants can give them a boost when water's scarce, which means more food for us, which is a big win!

SnapAG is a series of resources that invite students to explore the hot topics affecting the agriculture industry today. Topics range from organics, biotechnology, GMOs, livestock, careers and more.
Students learn about the unique challenges astronauts face while eating in outer space. They explore different food choices and food packaging. Students learn about the engineering design process, and then, as NASA engineering teams, they design and build original model devices to help astronauts eat in a microgravity environment --- their own creative devices for food storage and meal preparation.

The #MyFoodChoice resource is an inquiry-based resource answering the overall question of "How can I make informed food choices?" This resources has videos, interactive student sheets, approved resources and more. It is aimed at grade 9-12 students in subjects such as science, food studies, English, agriculture, social studies, humanities to name a few.
My Food Story is designed to encourage elementary students to learn more about Saskatchewan agriculture and to explore their personal relationships with food. My Food Story consists of a lesson plan that guides students in an exploration of foods grown in Saskatchewan and laminated, washable place mats for students to draw on to share their personal food stories. Teachers receive a hard copy of the lesson plan and a place mat for each student. This resource can be used to help celebrate Agriculture Month, which is annually celebrated in Saskatchewan in October. Student groups are challenged to create food packages for specific foods. They focus on three components in the design of their food packages; the packages must keep the food clean, protect or aid in the physical and chemical changes that can take place in the food, and present the food appealingly. They design their packaging to meet these requirements.
