This new website from Agriculture in the Classroom is a kid-friendly, engaging website that will bring the story of agriculture to life through highly interactive information, colourful illustrations, real-life photos, informative text, quizzes, teacher lessons and more! Students will discover the Past, Present, Evolution and Future of agriculture in Saskatchewan.

This comprehensive website contains a great deal of information and there are many curricular connections to grades 3 – 6 Science, Social Studies, and English Language Arts.

Among other things, the site offers:
- Simple Lessons - Depending on the sections your students study and activities undertaken, different outcomes may be met. There are several ‘grab and go’ activities for students, available in both pdf and word documents.
- Brain Buster Activities - These crossword puzzles, word searches, word scrambles, matching pages, and colouring pages are great when time is limited because they can be easily stopped and started! They will challenge students to problem-solve and test their knowledge.
- Quizzes - The quizzes here are generally the same quizzes as the students will find on the web pages. They are available for each section on this website so that students progress can be tracked if you wish!

October is agriculture month and a time to highlight our connection to food and the role that agriculture plays in the lives of Saskatchewan people and our students! This year’s theme is #MealsFromtheFarm.If you are interested in incorporating food or agriculture into your lessons this month, have your students enjoy some fun and learning with these "Meals From The Farm" Kahoots from Farm and Food Care Saskatchewan!  

A gamified resource that teaches students about healthy food, how to make healthy food choices, and how to interpret food labels and advertisements. Each lesson is a 'Mission' where students work in groups to create a Super-Human to defeat villains that are trying to take over the food system.

This story follows Reggie as he explores the different types of technology used in the agriculture industry.

Saskatchewan is renowned for having some of the most abundant and productive waterfowl habitat in North America. Situated within the pond-rich Prairie Pothole Region, ducks hatched and raised in our province disperse throughout the entire continent and beyond. Working alongside agricultural producers, industry groups, governments, and the public, we strive to ensure wetland values are appreciated and accounted for, and support our partners in achieving a sustainable balance between conservation and development.

This storybook tells the story of two young children who decide to grow a garden. Along the way, they face many of the same issues in their garden that their parents face on the farm. Together the family experiences the wonders of growing food while learning about balancing the growing food with caring for the environment.

Tomatosphere™ offers an excellent opportunity to have your students think and act like scientists as they practice their inquiry skills and develop understandings of the nature of science and the concept of a fair test.

In the spring, participating classrooms receive two packages of tomato seeds. One package contains seeds sent into space or treated in space-simulated conditions. The other contains untreated "control" seeds. Students plant the seeds and conduct experiments to explore the effects of the space environment on the germination of tomatoes. Through Tomatosphere™, students learn how to conduct a scientific experiment and compare the number of seeds that germinate for the two groups of seeds.

While completing the Tomatosphere™ program, students investigate how to supply space exploration missions with life-support requirements—food, water, oxygen and a way to consume the carbon dioxide exhaled by astronauts—while also discussing the many issues and research involved in space exploration.

Teachers can expand on the basic Tomatosphere™ Seed Investigation by connecting it to studies of plants, space, nutrition, math or the environment, depending on grade and curriculum.
