Wordwall is great for making (and finding) quizzes and activities for content courses! It is super user-friendly, and it has some cool themes too!
Take a look at this blog by Leanne Hintz, where she has used a few already-created "Wordwall" activities and then created some unique ones of her own. (https://ourlifewelllivedleannehintz.com/2023/05/17/wordwall/)
To use Wordwall, all you need to do is create a free account. The basic membership allows you to make five interactive activities (for online use … no printables unfortunately) perfect for the classroom or an online environment. A basic membership is just $8 per month and allows for unlimited creations (that can also become printables as well).

"Workbench is an innovative one-stop shop for teachers to find and share lessons and projects that support both core and STEAM curricula. Forge real-world connections by creating a meteorologist's report about local weather, bring the maker movement to life by creating earthquake-proof Lego buildings, or encourage students to learn JavaScript through scaffolding lessons that increase in difficulty. Flip your classroom by assigning videos and independent learning tasks, and then have students collaborate in class to perform experiments or create media.
Struggling with differentiation? Individually assign projects by area of interest or level of complexity, adding in supports as needed via videos, guiding questions, and progress monitoring. Build higher-order thinking skills by asking open-ended questions, tracking student progress, and viewing responses in real time. Create classes and assignments on Workbench, in Google Classroom, or by using Clever to sync with your school's learning management system (LMS)." (Common Sense Media Review)

What is Write-Around Discussion? This strategy provides students with opportunity to either activate prior knowledge on a topic or consolidate recently-learned information. This strategy is for use with small groups of students.
Why use it? To provide students with the opportunity to practice the skills of communication, collaboration, and critical thinking. To help students consolidate learning of new material by immediate use of the information. To help students activate prior knowledge on a topic to be discussed in class. To provide all students in class with an opportunity to demonstrate their understanding of a particular topic.

These sheets were created and designed to be used "outside" of Writing Workshop as a "Working on Writing" Daily 5 option, at a Writing Center, Creation Station, for early finishers, possibly homework, maybe even for those reluctant writers who can never think of anything to write about. Students do like a little spark when it comes to writing, and hopefully these fun sheets will do just that for the creative and imaginative writer in all our students! Here's something else kids LOVE to do...COLOR! Kids will love this eye-catching clipart and word banks, if necessary. Teachers will love that there are options for using just the front and/or the front and back. Teachers will also love that there are two line options; less lines and more lines, depending on the stage of your writers.

Is someone in the class really unhappy with how the novel ends? Does someone want to extend the story or modernize it, or make fun of it? Challenge him or her to write an alternate ending, sequel to, modern version or parody of the story. Be sure you give them your expectations clearly before they begin, and have them follow the writing process. This assignment could even be turned into a video. An example of an Alternate Ending Planner that was used with Grade 5-8 students is included below.
