"Why take brain breaks?
Brain breaks allow children the opportunity to mentally rest their brain by diverting their mind into movements that allow them to:
• refresh
• recharge
• refocus
• regenerate
• release stress
• breathe
Regular brain breaks enhance attentiveness, concentration, focus and accelerate learning by allowing children to release their energy, anxiety and stress. Brain breaks also increase circulation, promote physical fitness and coordination."

Do Yoga With Me
Rating

"Do Yoga with Me is one of my personal favourite sources for good home workouts, obviously of the yoga variety! Many of their classes are filmed outdoors in beautiful British Columbia, Canada. The level of instruction is top-notch and there are videos that focus on pretty much every part of the body (e.g. hips, hamstrings, back, etc.), so you can target the area that you need to work on most."

Any video with a plus symbol in an orange/yellow circle requires a subscription but all others are free to access. You can use the filters at the top of the page to filter your search.

NBS Sharing Dance Day
Rating
0.0 stars

Each year, Canada’s National Ballet School commissions a Canadian artist to create a piece of choreography that embodies a thoughtful theme.

Step-by-step instructional videos guide you through the choreography—whether you want to invest in learning and performing the full piece, or are exploring just a small portion of the material.

The choreography builds towards NBS Sharing Dance Day, a nationwide dance party bringing together tens of thousands of people in communities across the country. NBS Sharing Dance started as a flashmob in Toronto in 2010 and has grown over the years into an incredible celebration of the joy, creativity and community of dance from coast-to-coast-to-coast.

The dance day can be extended by a teacher to include additional arts ed. outcomes (CR6.2, CH6.1, for example)
