Ten printable colouring pages which depict the numbers one through ten. Each page has a spelled-out number in Michif, the language of Métis Peoples’, as well as the numerical equivalence. There are also images of culturally significant items on each page, which correspond with the respective number. There are written instructions on the bottom of each page that indicate different activities that supplement the colouring pages.

The SSBA offers First Nations and Métis Education Services, in support of its strategic plan and the Indigenous Council. The Indigenous Council consists of all self-identified First Nations and Métis school board members in Saskatchewan. The Indigenous Council elects one member to act as the Indigenous Constituency Representative on the SSBA Provincial Executive. Currently, the Council represents 11 per cent of all Saskatchewan school board trustees. Prior to the October 2016 school board elections, nine per cent of all Saskatchewan school board trustees had self-declared as Indigenous.

This lesson for PA 4.4 introduces students to the Metis nation using a storybook called The Flower Beadwork People. The accompanying PowerPoint is a collection of illustrations that follows the storybook The Flower Beadwork People. The illustrations can be shown on the SmartBoard while the teacher read the storybook aloud.

Why were bison essential to people living on the plains, prior to the time of Treaty negotiations (1870s)? What does the bison represent today? This LIVE Arts broadcast features contemporary artwork and storytelling by Métis artist Leah Marie Dorion, based on her children's book, "Métis Camp Circle: A Bison Culture Way of Life." Leah reads from the book, discusses the importance of bison (past and present), explains the use of Métis symbolism and discuss the composition and design of the illustrations. Leah guides students through a live drawing activity where they learn to draw and paint a bison as inspired by Leah's particular style of creating and imagery.

Sarah Shuttleworth has been Métis-style jigging since the age of four and loves to share her love for the dance whenever given the opportunity. The Red River Jig originates from the Red River Settlement, now commonly known as Winnipeg, and is the dance of the Métis people.

The Legacy of Hope Foundation is a very comprehensive site that offers lots of great resources that help to promote healing and Reconciliation in Canada. The Legacy of Hope Foundation's (LHF) goal is to educate and raise awareness about the history and existing intergenerational impacts of the Residential School System (RSS) and subsequent Sixties Scoop (SS) on Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, and Métis) Survivors, their descendants, and their communities to promote healing and Reconciliation.Check out each of the sections to see the great resources they have to offer.

The Métis Alphabet Colouring Book is an adaptation of Joseph Jean Fauchon's popular children's book of the same name. With enhanced cultural content, this colouring book highlights historical figures, significant events, places of interest and other aspects of Métis identity to take youthful readers beyond the alphabet to explore the richness of Métis history and culture. George Gingras's images--which are meant to be coloured and are inspired by illustrations and photos--provide an engaging complement to the text. The Métis Alphabet Colouring Book strengthens Métis pride and identity while providing young readers with an informative reference book about the essence of being Métis.
