Since 2012 we’ve been on a mission to inspire kids to love our ocean, through entertaining education.

We want to capture children’s imaginations through great storytelling, bringing the beauty, awe and fascination of the ocean and its inhabitants alive.

Our vision is to create generational change by connecting hearts and minds with the importance of enjoying and caring for our oceans and give them tools to make a better future.

There’s never been a more vital time for the health of the ocean and this planet than now!

Rating

Referring to a Roman gravestone for inspiration, students use a foam carving medium and carving tools to create a bas-relief (low-relief) gravestone for a beloved pet. Students then write an epitaph for the pet using a standard form of poetry that is appropriate for the setting, such as an elegy, ode, or couplet.

"Brush Ninja is a free tool for creating animated GIFs. Unlike some similar tools, Brush Ninja works equally well in the web browser on a Chromebook, Windows or Mac laptop, iPads, Android tablets, and iOS and Android phones.

To make an animated GIF on Brush Ninja simply go to the website and start drawing on the blank scene editor. You can draw as many scenes as you like in Brush Ninja. When you have drawn all of the scenes for your animation press the play button to preview your animation. If you are happy with your animation, you can download it by clicking the export option. If you don't like a part of your animation, you can go back and edit any of the scenes that you need to adjust. Watch my video that is embedded below to see the whole process in action." (Richard Byrne)

The site includes a link to the application as well as a video to explain how to use it.

Make Stuff Move - Flinger-Drummer
Rating

This build works out to be useful in two ways; flinging stuff and drumming on stuff. The overall concept is to increase the inertia of the moving servo by quickly snapping the cable tie to flick the arm. The mechanics of this build is modeled after a foot pedal used in a drum kit.

The flinging aspect is just fun. Fling coins, buttons and ping-pong balls. When using the animation recording feature of the Animate Shield, beats can be recorded an looped including adjusting the speed.
