Before the Plate documentary is about the questions, the stories and the people behind where our food comes from and how it gets to our plate. We have developed a comprehensive, curriculum-linked Documentary Viewing Guide for Grades 9-12 students that meets learning outcomes in Science, Social Studies, Health, Careers, PAA and more! Inspired by plans for a Small Modular Reactor (SMR) in Saskatchewan, our Grade 9 Team embarked on a cross-curricular project. Exploring SMRs' construction, operations, and impacts, we integrated indigenous perspectives on Treaty, Truth and Reconciliation, UNDRIP, and Duty to Consult. Journey 2050 allows schools around the world to experience agriculture like it has never been taught before. As students explore world food sustainability, they make inquiry-based decisions to see the ripple effect on social, economic and environmental factors locally and globally.
