Countdown Decodable Passages (beginning with CVC)
Rating
0.0 stars

From the document:
"The Countdown Passages are strictly controlled stories that align with the phonics skills and Heart Words taught in Countdown. Aside from the
Heart Words in the passages, all of the words included are decodable according to the Countdown Scope & Sequence; however, due to the use
of some Heart Words that have not been explicitly taught in Countdown according to the guidelines described below, we consider the passages
to be “strictly controlled” rather than completely “decodable."

There are 12 fiction passages: one for each unit in Countdown, beginning with Unit 17. The passages provide students with longer, connected-text
opportunities to apply the skills they are learning in Countdown. In the Countdown workbook, students practice reading words, phrases, and
sentences. With the Countdown Passages, students extend their practice to longer sections of text. As students develop mastery and automaticity
with the skills taught in Countdown, the Countdown Passages can be used to reinforce these skills, to provide opportunities for practice, and,
ideally, to build fluency. Students will also gain confidence as readers. Reading text controlled for the specific skills students have already
learned allows them to read with success, leading to confidence and the willingness to tackle more difficult text in the future."

Creative Personality Styles or Types by Adobe Create
Rating
0.0 stars

Click "Take the test" in the bottom left corner to get started.

A short and quirky personality style test created by Adobe to showcase varieties of creativity.

The quiz will outline your creative strengths, untapped potential and your ideal way of contributing. For example "The Artist" has the strength of being able to bring ideas and concepts to life; but untapped is fearlessness in expression and this person make a good producer.

Types are the artist, thinker, adventurer, maker, producer, dreamer, innovator, and visionary. Each type includes a goofy animated character that represents the type, there is a description of each type, and who they work best with.

This would be a great addition to a learner profile, or to explore when examining creativity. We can all be creative - just in different ways. This is a great way to illustrate that and spark some rich discussion in your classroom!

Crowded Out: The Story of Overtourism
Rating
0.0 stars

A powerful short documentary exploring Overtourism, featuring interviews with local residents and global experts.

Overtourism occurs when there are too many visitors to a particular destination. When rent prices push out local tenants to make way for holiday rentals, when narrow roads become jammed with tourist vehicles, when tourists cannot view landmarks because of the crowds – these are all signs of overtourism.

And it is the backlash from local residents that has made overtourism news. Cities such as Barcelona, Venice and Dubrovnik, and places once thought of as remote such as Iceland and Skye have suffered firsthand, and the protests by local residents have spread.

There has been decades of virtually uncontrolled growth, and it has crossed a threshold: in many destinations, tourism now demonstrably creates more problems than benefits.

Créer des constellations (Subitizer)
Rating
0.0 stars
