Kids Boost Immunity matches Saskatchewan curriculum outcomes from Grades 4 to 12. You can read a description of the core lessons available for Saskatchewan students. Each grade has a tailored selection of lessons that fit their curricular need.

The Critical Thinking and Evaluating Information lessons on Kids Boost Immunity are aligned with multiple subjects within the Saskatchewan curriculum. These lessons provide examples of how misinformation can sway opinion, often by creating a sense of fear. A checklist evaluation method enables student to assess the trustworthiness of information sources. Other evaluation strategies include learning how to recognize personal bias and using a scientific approach to test ideas. For older grades there are lessons in designing experiments, creating a working hypotheses, exploring biases, and understanding correlation versus causation.

Meteor is an educational tool kit created by Doctors Without Borders to teach students about humanitarian work and the situations Doctors Without Borders’ aid workers face. Students can use role play to put themselves in the shoes of a team member of Doctors Without Borders (doctor, nurse, logistician, etc.) and respond to different emergency situations such as armed conflict or natural disasters.

With some slight adaptations, this module can be completed without the use of tech.

Learn about Métis culture, history, and language through beautiful colouring pages paired with informative lessons. This resource contains downloadable lessons and colouring pages to go with each letter of the alphabet.

The Métis Alphabet Colouring Book is an adaptation of Joseph Jean Fauchon's popular children's book of the same name. With enhanced cultural content, this colouring book highlights historical figures, significant events, places of interest and other aspects of Métis identity to take youthful readers beyond the alphabet to explore the richness of Métis history and culture. George Gingras's images--which are meant to be coloured and are inspired by illustrations and photos--provide an engaging complement to the text. The Métis Alphabet Colouring Book strengthens Métis pride and identity while providing young readers with an informative reference book about the essence of being Métis.

Each year, Canada’s National Ballet School commissions a Canadian artist to create a piece of choreography that embodies a thoughtful theme.

Step-by-step instructional videos guide you through the choreography—whether you want to invest in learning and performing the full piece, or are exploring just a small portion of the material.

The choreography builds towards NBS Sharing Dance Day, a nationwide dance party bringing together tens of thousands of people in communities across the country. NBS Sharing Dance started as a flashmob in Toronto in 2010 and has grown over the years into an incredible celebration of the joy, creativity and community of dance from coast-to-coast-to-coast.

The dance day can be extended by a teacher to include additional arts ed. outcomes (CR6.2, CH6.1, for example)

Nature Companion is a free app and website that provides students with interesting and easy-to-understand information about plants, trees, birds, animals, insects, reptiles, and amphibians found in Canada’s four western provinces.

Each short description includes colourful photographs and a Did you know? section with fun facts about each species. Scroll through the colourful photographs and short descriptions to find out more about nature in your schoolyard or community. The tool is available on or offline and is a great way to connect kids with nature.

This mini unit plan is taken right from Ag in the classroom. Lesson plans and handouts are included. Topics discussed include, food waste, soil science, plant biology, and climate change.

Visit this Saskatchewan based site that offers lots of great lessons/units that focus mainly on integrating Aboriginal science and technology with the provincial science curriculum.

This resource includes a downloadable board game that allows students to explore exotic species—how they can impact natural areas and how our actions affect their control and spread.

Prior to playing the game, groups of students are provided with a ‘Backgrounder’ that explains the term exotic and introduces the important issues to consider. Each group develops a concept map based on their discussion that will contribute to a class map.

In playing the game students roll dice and move across the game board toward the Great Lakes. They earn points at various ‘stops’ by correctly answering questions related to invasive species. Game card questions provide information on a range of important aspects related to the introduction, impact and control of exotics. The goal is to collect the most points by the time all players have reached the finish line/square or time expires.

Also check out "Don't Stop for Hitchhikers", a supplementary activity where students simulate a lake ecosystem by taking on the role of its inhabitants. Students assume the identities of both native and non-native species to physically demonstrate what occurs to the habitat and its resources as exotic plants and animals are introduced into the environment. Through the use of props and a written script, students learn the means by which non-native species enter freshwater systems, how they negatively affect the environment and how they can be stopped. Working alongside agricultural producers, industry groups, governments, and the public, we strive to ensure wetland values are appreciated and accounted for, and support our partners in achieving a sustainable balance between conservation and development.

Enthusiastic and knowledgeable interpreters offer a unique opportunity for active, experiential, land-based learning. Most programs can usually be adapted for any grade level, however, suggested grades are included. School programs include hands-on learning that complements the Saskatchewan curriculum and makes a lasting impression on children of all ages.

Bookings are accepted starting on Tuesday, January 3, until Tuesday, May 23, on a first-come, first-served basis. Program times vary by park. This information can be found in your booking form. Canoe and kayak programs are available at select parks and are typically available starting June 1, subject to park conditions.

School groups are not required to pay a program fee.

This resource includes 14 interactive PowerPoint lessons designed to teach students about the Diversity of Living Things. The bundle is complete with discussion questions, videos, activities, and an exciting final Kahoot to help students to test their knowledge. Powerpoint lessons can be completed independently or synchronously.  

Folkfest is an annual event linked to curricular outcomes for Grade 6. Goals are to improve and refine Folkfest components with the use of “Student Showcase” and various professional development opportunities. Global and Canadian Defenders for human rights have changed societal conditions and provide inspiration for students. The overall goal of Speak Truth to Power Canada is to raise student awareness that advances in human rights come through the actions of individuals.

In this lesson plan on Truth and Reconciliation you will find:

- An interview with Chief Littlechild including his biography.
- Student activities that support the theme of this lesson, including reflection activities on Chief Littlechild’s life experiences, Residential Schools in Canada, the Truth and Reconciliation’s findings and recommendations on how to move forward.
- Three brief community defender profiles to expand the lesson and encourage students to identify with a variety of defenders for human rights.

To support the lesson on Truth and Reconciliation, you will also find:
1. Sections or articles of selected legal instruments that are tied to the theme of Truth and Reconciliation.
2. A student activity that links the Moments in Time timeline of advancements and setbacks in human rights from a Canadian perspective.

Sustainability Foundations is the introductory course to EVERFI’s sustainability curriculum. In this standalone lesson, students learn about the interconnectedness of environmental and human systems. They are asked to reflect on the kind of future they want for the world, what it will take to get there, and the impact that individuals can have on the environment.

In this lesson, students learn are introduced to the fundamentals of sustainability, focusing on each student's individual responsibility as an active member of the global society.

This course is designed for learners in the middle grades, to reinforce responsible citizenship of our world by encouraging them to think sustainably. This sustainability mindset established in our existing Sustainability Foundations course will be further built upon in this course. The learner will complete an introduction to recycling, explore the tradeoffs of mining, refining, and recycling, and then engage in a simulation that requires them to make real-world decisions about using their role as a consumer to promote change.

This course helps students develop strategies for becoming better informed consumers when it comes to recycling. Students will learn about single-stream recycling, the environmental impacts of mining and refining raw materials to be used in consumer goods, and how to make sustainable choices.

Possible additional curriculum connections include Social Studies 6 IN6.3 and DR6.2, depending on extensions made in the classroom.
