The National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women is December 6th and the theme for 2023 is “activism to end violence against women”.  

Hour of Code / Canada Learning Code Week is recognized on December 4-10th.

Human Rights Day is recognized on December 10th.

"During Canada Learning Code Week, students around Canada will collectively code to unlock Emoji World and make it a better place for all emojis.

Last year students all over Canada learned how to code and filled Emoji World with 1000s of emojis including many 💩 poop 💩 emojis. Unfortunately, this has resulted in the release of too much CO₂ And now Emoji World is at risk of severe climate change.

Teachers, with you as the Commanders and us as your co-pilots, our mission is to mitigate the CO₂ emissions caused by thousands of poop emojis from Canada Learning Code Week last year.

You can now access student or teacher accounts for free and find interactive lessons for online and classroom learning for Grade 6-12+ Math.

Topics include linear equations, 3D models, quadratic equation, exponential functions, problem solving, real world application, linear functions, etc.

Engaging activities include pizza maker, marble mini golf, scaling machines & much more!

Imagine a Canada Contest - Students Envision a Reconciled Canada K-12

Youth who participate in the art and essay stream can submit an art piece, essay, or other representation to express their vision of a reconciled Canada and what they hope others will learn from their submission.

Youth who participate in the project stream are asked to go one step further and submit a plan on how their project will address Reconciliation in their community or school.

Youth from select projects in both streams will be invited to participate in virtual leadership training exercises.

At the end of the school year, a national celebration will be held to honour up to twelve projects from the art and essay stream and up to fifteen projects from the project stream.
