Instructables is a website specializing in user-created and uploaded do-it-yourself projects, currently owned by Autodesk. It was created by Eric Wilhelm and Saul Griffith and launched in August 2005.

Instructables is dedicated to step-by-step collaboration among members to build a variety of projects.

SFUSD's creative computing curriculum introduces computer science as a creative, collaborative, and engaging discipline to children in kindergarten through second grade.

Across 4 units and 15-20 lessons, students will learn about algorithms and programming, computing systems, the Internet, and impacts of computing, while developing strong practices and dispositions. Lessons are designed to be implemented in 45 to 60-minute periods approximately once per week.

Having students make quizzes on Kahoot! is a great way for them to extend their learning and benefit the entire class!

Kahoot! is an excellent formative assessment tool. You can give feedback to your students after each question as you play. Make learning a game show...your students will never have so much fun being assessed.

Phonological awareness skills are important in order to develop good reading and spelling skills. Having good phonological awareness skills means that a child is able to manipulate sounds and words, or “play” with sounds and words. For example, you might ask your child to break the word “cat” into individual sounds: “c-a-t.”

Important: These skills deal with SOUNDS not letters. For example, /t/ represents the sound and not the letter name “tee.” You will not use any written or visual letters when working with phonological activities. These activities are done with listening and speaking only. Learning the letter names and their corresponding sounds is also very important but should be taught and practiced at a different time of the day.

This resource will have a weekly activity for your to work on with your child/student(s). It will include a handout with information and guidance, as well as a video to help support you and the learner.

Math Antics has amazing videos to explain concepts for Math. The videos are very clear and explicit and students love them. There are also follow up lessons, activities and worksheets teachers and students can use to solidify learning.

The videos are organized by strand, and all are free. Some of the other resources are free as well, but the cost to have full access is really low. It's just $20 for a full year. That being said, it's super useful even without a paid account!

This would be a fantastic resource for a guided math station, or a flipped classroom.

Math is Fun is a free website offering mini explanations of math topics from all levels, including elementary to high school. It also features tons of games and puzzles to explore. It also includes an illustrated math dictionary with interactive activities for the students to explore and deepen mathematical understanding.

Mental Wellness Basics introduces students to concepts related to mental health and wellness. Stigma associated with mental health can have serious and negative impacts on help-seeking behaviors, and many mental health conditions and symptoms can be significantly lessened through prevention. No Red Ink is an online site that helps students specifically with grammar. It gives quizzes and exercises tailored to that students’ interests (sports, celebrities, etc) and offers a number of different differentiated platforms and games.

You have to sign up to use this for your students. Some features are locked for paid accounts, but that being said, there are a number of excellent activities for free as well!
