The Hour of Code started as a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify "code", to show that anybody can learn the basics, and to broaden participation in the field of computer science. Before keyboards, printers, even monitors there was processing. Processing is the reason computers are computers. Processing is the ability of the computer to take in raw data and basically make sense of it.
