Lalilo is an online tool for K, 1st and 2nd grade teachers and students. The Lalilo website is accessible on tablets, iPads and computers. Lalilo works in school environments or in a distance learning setting.
Through personalized exercises students work on adaptive exercises in phonics, word recognition, and comprehension.
Lalilo creates a playful, interactive world where students journey through different worlds, collecting badges and unlocking stories. The vocabulary-rich stories teach students about nature and animals in engaging and fun ways.
The site also offers data at-a-glance. Teachers can track whole class and individual progress. They can also assign specific lessons.

This collection provides a list of free educational resources for K-12 students (kindergarten through high school students) and their parents and teachers. Heterodox Academy is a group of educators, administrators, and graduate students who believe diverse viewpoints and open inquiry are critical to research and learning. This resources listed on this document are intended to provide K-12 educators with materials to create classrooms that welcome diverse people with diverse viewpoints and that equip learners with the habits of heart and mind to engage that diversity in open inquiry and constructive disagreement.
As students proceed through the lessons, more story groups are available for reading aloud. In the first story groups, the language is quite controlled. In later story groups, after students have mastered a large percentage of the phonics patterns of English, the language increasingly resembles the language of ordinary texts the student will see at school or in the library.

120 lessons start with introducing letters and letter sounds. Then students read and write words like “cat” and “fib.” Students learn more sophisticated phonics, affixes, and spellings, in a step-by-step way. By the end, they are reading and writing words like “communication” and “chrysanthemum.”

In this lesson, students build classroom community by exploring environmental print and a teacher-created display that focuses on a favorite book. They then create and share their own presentations.
"Computational thinking is a way of solving problems, designing systems and understanding human behaviour by drawing on the concepts of computer science. Incorporating a broad set of problem-solving processes that represent an entry point for new ways of thinking are applicable in computer science and non-computer science contexts. Students at all grades can be engaged in computational thinking to support the learning of coding. While many teachers have already incorporated computational thinking into their classroom instructional and assessment activities, the Ministry of Education has developed this document to support teachers in explicitly connecting computational thinking to specific outcomes in grades 1 through 6 mathematics and science."
