Education Week takes place from October 15 to 21, 2023.  The theme this year is "Bright Minds, Bright Futures".  The following collection has been put together to support you in encouraging your students to stretch their minds and thinking, and consider all the possibilities their future may hold. There are a number of resources to assit you in lighting the path for students to achieve their full potential. We hope this collection helps you to provide the opportunties that will create Saskatchewan's future leaders. Start by examining the first resource, "1. Educational computer games that introduce kids to key ideas in media and digital literacy. These games are a great way to start a conversation on media issues in the home or classroom, and you can play most of them right here on our website.

Today we’re going to go a little meta and talk about how computer science can support learning with educational technology. We here at Crash Course are big fans of interactive in-class learning and hands-on experiences, but we also believe in the additive power of educational technology inside and outside the classroom from the Internet itself and Massive Open Online Courses, or MOOCs to AI driven intelligent tutoring systems and virtual reality.

Ever wanted to take your students on an exciting journey? What if you could take that journey from the comfort of the classroom or out-of-school learning environment? Welcome to Mission to Mars!

Over the course of these lessons, you and your students will learn about and plan a mission to Mars. Your students will apply their creativity and science and math knowledge to explore the Red Planet. Not a scientist or engineer? That's okay! You're going to learn everything you need to know while preparing for and conducting these lessons. And you actually already have some engineering skills, whether you know it or not.

In this unit, students learn about Mars, design a mission to explore the planet, build and test model spacecraft and components, and engage in scientific exploration. The unit takes students through seven stages, including learning about the planet, planning the mission, designing the spacecraft, launching, landing, surface operations, and sample handling.

In this activity, students use a paper plate to build a model that shows why lunar eclipses don’t happen during every full moon.

This resource is an assessment and planning tool for assessing one's wellness in physical, psychological, emotions, relational, spiritual, and workplace/professional wellness.

This guide uses biology, health, and world study topics to engage students in global health issues and solutions from experiential and multidisciplinary perspectives. The guide offers an outline of how to organize and host a "Global Health Conference," and provides suggestions regarding logistics and instructions as well as resource materials for preparing and organizing a student conference. The Global Health Conference is a school event where students present display boards and two-page essays on various countries and their health challenges, very much like a science fair.
As a template, the guide can be modified to suit each educator's goals, student needs, and school policies. The guide is designed to involve all students from a single grade level—e.g., all seventh-grade students. However, educators can use pieces from the guide or tailor it to one class or a whole school. We recommend that each educator adapt this guide to the most appropriate scale for his or her own school environment and policies, student needs, and learning outcomes.

This resource includes a number of Edvard Munch projects that students could try. 

Students construct model landfill liners using tape and strips of plastic, within resource constraints. The challenge is to construct a bag that is able to hold a cup of water without leaking. This represents similar challenges that environmental engineers face when piecing together liners for real landfills that are acres and acres in size.

Feedback focuses on characteristics of the work the student has done or on characteristics of the process used. It points out what the student has done well (success feedback) and gives specific information to guide improvement (intervention feedback).

This guide covers the age range 6 years to 18 years. It also encompasses all students with reading difficulties, including those who have specific learning difficulties (dyslexia) as well as those who have made generally poor progress in reading and may or may not have additional general learning difficulties. Information here can be applied to students from disadvantaged backgrounds, minority groups and to students with reading difficulties for whom English is not a first language. While the full range of literacy involves more than just reading, the focus here is particularly on reading skills: the ability to decode and understand text.

This Module focuses on the entire school population and highlights partnerships between general education and special education faculty that result in the creation of a 'collective responsibility' and shared high expectations for all students (est. completion time: 2 hours).

As classroom managers, teachers regularly use commands to direct students to start and stop activities. Instructors find commands to be a crucial tool for classroom management, serving as instructional signals that help students to conform to the teacher's expectations for appropriate behaviors.
