Teachers understand that there are many layers of content, outcomes, skills, and experiences that our students require throughout their educational journey to become competent 21st century learners. Teachers have must dos, such as curricular outcomes and assessment, but there are also many additional elements to provide enrichment to learning for students. All of these layers can become overwhelming if only considered from the perspective of teaching these elements in silos. GAP or Grade Alike Planning in Sun West has offered opportunities to teachers to reimagine these elements by infusing them together. The GAP Infusion Poster illustrates a visual of this philosophy where many elements are blended thoughtfully together to meet many learning outcomes, provide many opportunities, and give students' voice and choice in their learning by exploring their interests and learning needs.

Phonological awareness skills are important in order to develop good reading and spelling skills. Having good phonological awareness skills means that a child is able to manipulate sounds and words, or “play” with sounds and words. For example, you might ask your child to break the word “cat” into individual sounds: “c-a-t.” Important: These skills deal with SOUNDS not letters. For example, /t/ represents the sound and not the letter name “tee.” You will not use any written or visual letters when working with phonological activities. These activities are done with listening and speaking only. Learning the letter names and their corresponding sounds is also very important but should be taught and practiced at a different time of the day. This resource will have a weekly activity for your to work on with your child/student(s). It will include a handout with information and guidance, as well as a video to help support you and the learner. This is a year plan created using GAP resources that any teacher can take and use. This is intended for teachers new to teaching Grade Six, but can be used by any Grade Six teacher to offer ideas of what can be used to teach the content of the Grade Six curriculum.
This resource was developed in Westcliffe School (Jennifer Loken with contributions from the rest of the staff) and is an excellent scope and sequence of the different writing expectations for each grade level.

EVERFI’s Healthier Me is an innovative, games-based elementary school health curriculum that educates elementary school students about the importance of well-balanced meals and physical activity. These elementary health lesson plans prepare students to make healthy, informed decisions when it comes to nutrition and fitness, securing a healthier and happier future for the next generation.
This course could easily be extended to having students create an action plan (Health Education DM and AP outcomes) based on what they have learned in this course.

In this package you’ll find digitized copies of each object found in the box, historical context, additional resources and activity suggestions. You do not need to borrow the kit to use this online resource.
This package contains objects and resources that are represented in the Canadian Museum of History’s signature exhibition, the Canadian History Hall. Collected from across the country, and highlighting varied perspectives, these objects illuminate the richness and diversity of the Canadian experience. They can be used as entry points to discussions on different periods in Canada’s history, or as lessons in historical inquiry that can build students’ critical thinking and historical inquiry skills.

There are two types of activities: Package Activities and Object Activities.
Package Activities are project-based activities designed to accommodate one or more classes. These activities involve the use of historical thinking concepts while exploring the whole package, resulting in a more comprehensive experience.
Object Activities are short inquiry-based activities that typically take 5–25 minutes. These activities encourage students to think critically about the objects being presented, and to use historical thinking concepts.
Both types of activities were created with the guidance of educators from across Canada, and incorporate current educational theory and approaches.
