This revision of the Teaching and Learning in New Mexico: Considerations for Diverse Student Populations Module offers a broad overview of how diversity (i.e., culture, language, exceptionality, and socioeconomic status) affects learning and how teachers can better meet the needs of all their students in their classes.

In this self-paced tutorial, educators learn about the kinds of educational experiences that prove effective in exciting students about STEM careers and identify resources that can be used to introduce students to STEM careers, especially those related to climate change science. Profiles of scientists and engineers representing diverse populations are included for use in the classroom. Multimedia educational resources including video clips and vocabulary words linked to a glossary are included. This is the eighth of ten self-paced professional development modules providing opportunities for teachers to learn about climate change through first-hand data exploration.

This resource contains an abundance of ELA infused, cross-curricular lessons organized by themes for Grades 4, 5 and 6. Non-fiction, poetry and fiction reading lessons are all included. 

The Government of Saskatchewan is committed to ensuring schools are safe and inclusive environments. It is a priority that all students and staff feel included, protected and respected. Students may feel unsafe at school for a variety of reasons. Students who do not feel safe or valued are at risk of having lower grades, higher rates of skipping school, higher rates of risky behaviour or higher rates of depression (Egale, 2011).

The purpose of the Deepening the Discussion: Gender and Sexual Diversity Toolkit is to:

*acknowledge the shared responsibility of ensuring that all students and staff who identify as gender and/or sexually diverse have the same opportunities for safety, socialization and success in schools;
*assist school divisions to fulfill their ethical and professional responsibilities to provide safe, equitable and inclusive learning environments for students and staff, regardless of the actual or perceived differences;
*provide a framework for school divisions to address and support gender and sexual diversity;
*build upon and focus the conversation of gender and sexual diversity for all school division and school administration and staff (Deepening the Discussion: Gender and Sexual Diversity (2015));
*provide resources and tools to support critical conversations and school division’s planning for gender and sexual diversity; and,
*support the Education Sector Strategic Plan (ESSP) by providing a supportive learning environment which allows all students the opportunity to remain in school and graduate.

"The EAL and Newcomer Settlement Portal (the Portal) offers a repository of resources for supporting English as an Additional Language (EAL) learners. Users can access important ministry documents, helpful resources and learning materials shared by school divisions. Important announcements regarding upcoming events are also available.
Key items available on the Portal are:

*EAL Initial Assessment Toolkits that include guidelines, documents and resources to support school divisions in conducting the initial assessment of EAL learners.

*Supporting EAL Learners: Getting Started modules intended to provide practical, hands-on resources for all educators.
EAL resources on creating welcoming learning environments, as well as educator supports in addressing the language and learning needs of EAL students."

Welcome to Doggyland, the home of modern, hip hop inspired takes on kids songs and nursery rhymes presented by Snoop Dogg! This show features a colorful cast of dogs who educate and entertain children through the power of singing, dancing and rapping! The cast is composed of Bow Wizzle (played by Snoop Dogg) and the puppies Wags, Yap Yap, Barks-A-Locks and Chow Wow!

The show features a colorful cast of dogs in a vibrant world where they sing fun and educational songs that teach learning and cognitive fundamentals aimed at preschoolers and toddlers all around the world.

The songs help promote social emotional development as well as age related cognitive development in the preschool set. We cover a wide range of engaging topics such as letters, numbers, colors, animals, good habits, hygiene, accepting others and more, along with modern remixes of classic nursery rhymes. Our music is made by award winning producers and singers resulting in tunes that everyone in the family can enjoy, allowing parents to participate in their child’s learning experience.

The show is centered on a group of puppies led by an adult mentor named Bow Wizzle. Every dog is different in color and shape to help promote diversity and inclusion.
